COSTUME PERSONNEL

STITCHER INTERNS construct costume pieces and must have knowledge of machine and hand sewing, time management, teamwork, and maintaining a positive attitude in stressful situations. Starting at $11.00 per hour.

STITCHERS construct costume pieces and must have knowledge of, and experience with, costume construction, machine and hand sewing, time management, teamwork, and maintaining a positive attitude in stressful situations. Starting at $13.00 per hour.

FIRST HANDS organize costume construction based on patterns and must have experience with cutting, pattern making, tailoring, and machine maintenance. Starting at $15.00 per hour.

TAILORS interpret designs and create patterns and must have experience creating men’s suits from scratch, creating flat patterns, draping, working knowledge of costume history and fabric types and uses, management skills, and good interpersonal and communication skills. Starting at $20.00 per hour.

DRAPERS interpret designs and create patterns and must have experience with flat patternmaking, draping, and tailoring, working knowledge of costume history and fabric types and uses, management skills, and good interpersonal and communication skills. Starting at $20.00 per hour.

COSTUME CRAFTS ARTISANS create wearable accessories and should be familiar with millinery, dying, leatherwork, jewelry, and shoe construction and repair. Starting at $15.00 per hour.

The DESIGN ASSISTANT will assist the Costume Shop Manager, Costume Director, and costume shop staff in the planning and creation of the costumes for the season. Candidates should have experience working in a costume shop, exceptional organizational and communication skills, and be willing to work long hours in a fast-paced environment. Starting at $12.00 per hour.

The SHOP ASSISTANT / MATERIALS CO-ORDINATOR will assist the Costume Shop Manager, Costume Director, and costume shop staff with the daily operations of the costume shop, procuring shop materials and maintaining a clean and safe environment. Candidates should have experience working in a costume shop, exceptional organizational and communication skills, and be willing to work long hours in a fast-paced environment. Starting at $11.25 per hour.


PROPERTIES PERSONNEL

PROPS ARTISAN INTERNS work closely with the Props Artisans to create the props used on stage for four productions and must have experience with time management, teamwork and maintaining a positive attitude in stressful situations. Skills in carpentry, painting, metalworking, upholstery, sculpting and casting a plus. Starting at $11.00 per hour.

PROPS UPHOLSTERY ARTISAN covers furniture and set pieces with upholstery for four productions and must have experience with traditional and modern upholstery techniques, working knowledge of period styles and fabrics, and the ability to maintain a positive attitude in stressful situations. Skills in time management and teamwork required. Skills in carpentry, painting, metalworking, sculpting and casting a plus. Starting at $15.25 per hour.

PROPS CARPENTER ARTISAN works with the IATSE Props Carpenter to create furniture and hand props for four productions and must have experience working in a woodshop, working knowledge of period styles and the ability to maintain a positive attitude in stressful situations. Skills in time management and teamwork required. Skills in painting, upholstery, metalworking, sculpting and casting a plus. Starting at $15.25 per hour.

PROPS METALWORKER ARTISAN creates metal hand props and scenic elements and must have experience with welding and soldering, working knowledge of the history of armor and weapons, and the ability to maintain a positive attitude in stressful situations. Skills in time management and teamwork required. Skills in carpentry, painting, upholstery, sculpting and casting a plus. Starting at $15.25 per hour. The

ASSISTANT PROPS MANAGER works hand in hand with the Props Manager to organize the prop builds for each production, acquire materials and supplies, supervise maintenance and repairs, communicate with other departments, and respond to daily notes. They must have exceptional communication, time management, organizational, research and shopping skills as well as a working knowledge of period styles and the ability to maintain a positive attitude while working in a fast-paced environment. Must have a valid driver’s license, as well as a basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Photoshop and AutoCAD. A college degree in theatre with a specialty in props or two years props experience in a LORT theatre or other major professional theatre preferred. Compensation is $700.00 per week.
