Assistant Manager & Run Crew Positions Available!

AUDIO ENGINEERING

LEAD AUDIO ASSISTANT (1): As a Browning Fellow, work directly with the IATSE Audio Engineer and Sound Designer. Complete changeovers, A/V run crew duties for each opera in the repertory, and set-up, operate, and maintain equipment used in rehearsals and performances. Must be familiar with microphones (wired & wireless), speakers, running and securing cable, intercom systems, and video monitors. Experience working with musicians a plus. Compensation starting at $12.00 per hour.

SECOND AUDIO ASSISTANT (1): As an Emerson Candidate, work directly with the IATSE Audio Engineer. Complete changeovers, A/V run crew duties for each opera in the repertory, and set-up, operate, and maintain equipment used in rehearsals and performances. Must be familiar with microphones (wired & wireless), speakers, running and securing cable, intercom systems, and video monitors. Experience working with musicians a plus. LIGHTING & ELECTRICS

ASSISTANT MASTER ELECTRICIANS (2): As a Browning Fellow, work directly with the IATSE Master Electrician, the Lighting Supervisor, and Tony Award-Winning Lighting Designer Chris Akerlind, learning the board and how to maintain stock during a repertory season. Members of the Electrics Crew. Compensation starting at $11.00 per hour.

ASSISTANT DECK ELECTRICIANS (2): As an Emerson Candidate, work directly with the IATSE Deck Electrician building and maintaining practicals. Members of the Electrics Crew. Compensation starting at $10.50 per hour.

ELECTRICS CREW (4): Complete changeovers (e.g. regularly re-hang and re-focus four light plots), run follow spots for rehearsals and performances. Must have experience with a variety of lighting equipment, standard focus procedures, basic knowledge of electricity and wiring. Must be comfortable working at heights, able to maintain a positive attitude, able to work on a deadline, and driven to exceed. Compensation starting at $10.25 per hour.

ORCHESTRA OPERATIONS

ORCHESTRA ASSISTANT (1): As a Browning Fellow, work directly with the IATSE Orchestra Operations Manager and St. Louis Symphony Orchestra Player. Member of Orchestra Crew. Compensation starting at $10.50 per hour.

ORCHESTRA CREW (1): As an Emerson Candidate, complete changeovers in the orchestra pit regularly lifting music stands, stacks of chairs and heavy instruments, transfer orchestra materials and instruments from rehearsal halls to theatre and back again as needed. Must be able to lift more than 50 pounds, able to maintain a positive attitude, and able to work on a deadline. Familiarity with hand tools and experience working with musicians a plus. Compensation starting at $10.25 per hour.

PROPERTIES OPERATIONS

PROPS ASSISTANT (2): Work directly with the IATSE Props Supervisors and the OTSL Props Manager generating tracking and run crew paperwork. Member of Props Crew. Compensation starting at $10.50 per hour.

PROPS CREW (2): Complete changeovers and perform props run crew duties for each opera in repertory. Occasionally props interns are costumed for onstage moves during the show. Must be familiar with hand tools, able to maintain a positive attitude in stressful situations, and driven to exceed; experience with props maintenance a plus. Compensation starting at $10.25 per hour.

SCENIC OPERATIONS

ASSISTANT STAGE CARPENTERS (2): As an Emerson Candidate, work directly with the IATSE Stage Carpenters and the OTSL Technical Director organizing efficient changeovers. Member of Deck Crew. Compensation starting at $10.50 per hour.

RIGGING INTERNS (2): Work directly with the IATSE Stage Carpenters ensuring all flown scenery elements are safe. Member of Deck Crew. Compensation starting at $10.50 per hour.

DECK CREW (6): Complete changeovers and perform scenic run crew duties for each opera in the repertory, report directly to the IATSE Stage Carpenter. Occasionally Deck Crew members are costumed for onstage moves during the show. Must have experience in standard backstage and shop skills; additional skills will be trained on the job. Must be familiar with hand tools, able to move heavy scenery, able to maintain a positive attitude in stressful situations, and driven to exceed; experience with rigging and automation a plus. Compensation starting at $10.25 per hour.

WARDROBE

ASSISTANT WARDROBE MANAGER (1): As an Emerson Candidate, work directly with the Wardrobe Manager and the OTSL Costume Shop organizing quick changes, maintenance and changeovers for costumes. Member of Wardrobe Crew. Compensation starting at $11.25 per hour.

WARDROBE INTERN: (1): As an Emerson Candidate, work directly with the Wardrobe Managers to learn how to manage a crew performing quick changes, costume maintenance, and costume changeovers. Member of Wardrobe Crew. Compensation starting at $10.50 per hour.

WARDROBE CREW (6): Complete changeovers and perform wardrobe run crew duties for each opera in the repertory, maintain costumes, assist singers with costume changes. Must be familiar with costume maintenance (laundering and basic stitching), able to maintain a positive attitude in stressful situations, and driven to exceed; experience with costume construction a plus. Compensation starting at $10.25 per hour.
